magic multi media, EDIUS.NET, unveils new customizable features and advanced AI for EDIUS 11 at NAB Show 2025

Las Vegas – NAB Show 2025
– magic multi media, the global distributor and operator of EDIUS.NET, announces significant enhancements for Grass Valley EDIUS 11, including the BAT Server, extensive customizable functions, and multiple hardware accelerations for AI, including Intel NPU support.

magic multi media introduces the new EDIUS BAT Server, which simplifies the creation of individual applications and automated workflows for users. Those applications benefit from CUDA acceleration already and from a new cooperation with Intel, leveraging the Intel Core Ultra processor family and its built-in Neural Processing Unit (NPU).

“The EDIUS BAT Server enables a wide range of new and customizable functions and workflows including AI” says Michael Lehmann-Horn, CEO of magic multi media GmbH, EDIUS.NET. The new BAT Server features are available immediately and free of charge to EDIUS 11 users.

Alex Kataoka, EDIUS Product Manager at Grass Valley, explains: “We are happy to see our partner magic multi media fully utilize the new possibilities of EDIUS 11’s open architecture by implementing the new BAT Server enabling customers to create their own unique functions and workflows. Instead of having to deal with overloaded menus the user will benefit from a streamlined workflow.”

“Intel’s Neural Processing Unit (NPU) can significantly accelerate AI processes by allowing relevant workloads to shift from CPU and GPU,” states Carla Rodriguez, VP and General Manager of the Client Software Ecosystem team at Intel. “Integrated into the new Intel® Core™ Ultra platform, our NPU provides a boost in AI performance, from which EDIUS 11 users can now fully benefit with the release of the EDIUS BAT Server.”

The EDIUS BAT Server is now part of the EDIUS.NET Setup Manager and can be easily and freely installed as needed. “We have successfully completed the public test phase of our BAT Server and have been able to gather a lot of experience,” explains Michael Lehmann-Horn. “The possibilities of the EDIUS BAT Server are now available to all EDIUS 11 users. We have already pre-configured some particularly impressive applications as examples.”

For instance, the BAT Server offers a speech-to-text application with automatic subtitle creation for 100 languages – optionally with translation into English. Other integrated functions include excellent deinterlacing, high-quality SD-to-HD conversion, intelligent proxy creation, lossless trimming of long videos, creation of video files with toggleable subtitles, export in latest file formats, and sending media files to any apps or AI tool for further processing.

At the Grass Valley booth at NAB Show, further upcoming features will also be showcased, such as intelligent automatic scene detection, musical beat detection, and an image-based search, including text and person recognition.

“EDIUS 11 was launched as an editing system with an open architecture. We are now seeing applications that build upon it and elevate EDIUS to the next level, thus also enabling the implementation of future AI models and functions,” explains Michael Lehmann-Horn.

Many users, including authorities like the police, as well as filmmakers, rely on the fact that no personal data flows over the internet. Therefore, all AI services integrated via EDIUS function locally and do not require internet access. Of course, cloud services can also be integrated if desired, but this is purely optional and can be decided individually by the user.

The Intel NPU acceleration (if supported by the processor) and the EDIUS BAT Server are available immediately for EDIUS 11 users.
